Alien: Unidentified olfactory and deliciously scented object
Once these parameters are met, a divine and mysterious fragrance will be born, born from an imaginary and futuristic world where the woman is a solar and powerful divinity. “Alien” reveals us to a surprising and enchanting olfactory world.
Alien or the creation of a mysterious and solar world
Each Thierry Mugler perfume takes us into a wonderful world, makes us dream, and explodes our senses… “Alien”, this perfume from elsewhere, created a surprise as soon as it was released in 2005. Visual Mugler knows how to enchant these ladies!
“Do you believe in the extraordinary?” Is the slogan of the first campaign for “Alien” in 2005. The perfume “Alien” is presented as a precious talisman, the result of the creation of a mysterious and magnificent solar goddess who appears in our perfumeries and on our screens under the features of model Tina Baltzer then Felicity Gilbert.
The universe of the magnificent “Alien” talisman is discovered through visuals and campaigns and is always created around a virtual community, as in the early days of Angel. A lively and important community for which Mugler invents and creates secondary universes. For example, when “Alien Eau Extraordinaire” came out, Mugler created Alien Experience, a mystical and creative universe that Internet users discover while playing.
“Alien” or the perfect accords of floral, amber, and woody notes
“Radiant, mysterious, reassuring, the fragrance multiplies the revelations” 1, and the strange and solar universe is offered to us by its magnificent bottle. Carved like a magical precious stone, the “Alien” bottle is shaped on the model of an amethyst which would be held like the key to a new universe enclosed in claws of gold. The bottle offers prisms and facets, the fragrance also offers multiple.
“Alien” has been worked around three great “revelations” or fragrances: woody with cashmeran wood, floral around accords of luminous and honeyed sambac jasmine, and white amber. Thus the perfume opens with top notes of tonic and tangy mandarin to offer delicate and flowery-sweet hearts of sambac jasmine married with grace to notes of orange blossom. Then the deep and captivating trail of the perfume will let shine through the exotic and refined magic of the powerful cashmeran which will be associated with amber and amber woods to be launched with a gourmet touch of vanilla.
“Alien” is therefore a completely new and complex fragrance based on relatively simple but very original accords. Since its release, the scented composition of this multifaceted talisman has never ceased to seduce women in search of an original and mysterious, sensual and racy fragrance.
Thierry Mugler made himself known in perfumery thanks to “Angel” released in 1992. The first gourmet fragrance in the history of perfumery, “Angel” is still one of the 10 best-selling perfumes in the world … 13 years later, Thierry Mugler returns with a stunning composition “Alien”. The second great perfume of the “Alien” brand is an essence that is both sensual and energetic. Thanks to its pretty amethyst-shaped gemstone, “Alien” gives off a force, a deep mystery, and a very particular luminosity.
The perfumers of daring
In order to imagine a perfume at the height of Thierry Mugler’s audacity, this denier called on Dominique Ropion and Laurent Bruyère. They realized this perfume as a precious talisman. Dominique Ropion was very early attracted by olfactory emotions since his mother and grandfather worked at Roure. Dominique Ropion studied physics and knows each ingredient perfectly and also each technique, some say that he is a genius. We owe him very beautiful compositions such as “Very Irresistible” by Givenchy, “Olympéa” by Paco Rabanne, or “Pure Poison” by Christian Dior. As for Laurent Bruyère, he is a self-taught perfumer. After starting to work at Charabot, he joined the big IFF house, then Mane, and finally Robertet. Laurent Bruyère sadly passed away in 2008, at the age of 43, but he left great perfumes like “Amor Amor” by Cacharel or “Paris Première Rose 2016” by Yves Saint Laurent. The Thierry Mugler house presented “Alien” as “a luminous creation that reveals the radiance and splendor of each woman”.
The three facets of Alien
“Alien” was built around three facets, amber, floral, woody. “Alien” is considered a real olfactory shock. The fragrance is really dominated by sambac jasmine. Also called “True jasmine” or “Arabian jasmine”, sambac jasmine is a very aesthetic plant and also very fragrant. Native to India, sambac jasmine has beautiful small white flowers. Grasse is full of grafted jasmine, the production of which is now entirely reserved for the house of Chanel. Other estates then began to replant jasmine, such as “Domaine de Manon”, where the 3.5-hectare harvest is here reserved for the Dior house, mainly for its “J’Adore” fragrance. At the top of “Alien”, we find only the opulence of jasmine. In the heart, cashmeran delivers its notes that are both woody and enveloping and is then associated with orange blossom, luminous and dazzling. The base is loaded with white amber, which increases the sensuality and mystery tenfold. In a real precious stone, the bottle dressed in purple sublimates the mystery that surrounds “Alien”.
The second great perfume of the“ Alien ”brand is as enigmatic as it is sensual. The 3 facets offer a unique composition and a fragrance full of daring, just like the creator.
