Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria perfumes and their iconic bottle
To do this, the brand is inspired by the most beautiful raw materials offered by nature and then transforms them into succulent perfumes . This time, Guerlain did not look very far to find its source of inspiration. Its niche fragrance highlights Calabrian bergamot. It is thus called Aqua Allegoria Bergamot Calabria.
Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria perfumes and their iconic bottle
When Guerlain decided to create the Aqua Allegoria collection, its ambition was above all to make us travel. Indeed, each of its juices is a kind of bright and sparkling interpretation of the most beautiful gardens around the world. Thus, each of its perfumes highlights a particular ingredient in order to transport us to a remote place with a simple breath. The perfumers of the Guerlain house then went around the world to bring us the most beautiful raw materials. From India to Italy, California or Reunion, they have traveled the entire planet in search of unique scents. Each Aqua Allegoria thus becomes the reflection of a country. What’s more, the other element that characterizes them is their cult bottle. This is common to all Aqua Allegoria. In fact, it is a modern version of the iconic Flacon Aux Abeilles by Guerlain designed in 1853 for Eau de Cologne Impériale. We also find there the bee placed on the cork and finely engraved in the roundness of the gold. Light, meanwhile, is reflected through a chiseled honeycomb dome. This time it overcomes an amber juice reminiscent of the sun’s rays. Moreover, it is precisely this luminosity that we find in the flavor of Bergamot Calabria. is reflected through a chiseled honeycomb dome. The invigorating freshness of Calabria Bergamot
As always, Bergamot Calabria is a perfume developed by Thierry Wasser, official nose of the Guerlain house since 2008. He has chosen here to give thanks to one of the most emblematic ingredients of fresh perfumes: bergamot. On the other hand, if this fruit is usually placed in the top notes of perfumes, it is clearly put forward here and serves as a common thread for all this gasoline. Bergamot Calabria is a juice that smells of the sun. For a bit and, closing our eyes, we would almost have the impression of walking in Calabria in a garden of bergamot trees! Bergamot Calabria combines this sun-drenched fruit with other citrus fruits. In addition, its start is illuminated with petitgrain, an absolute obtained by distillation of the branches and leaves of the sour orange. The whole thing is at the same time sparkling, aromatic, green and floral. Moreover, it is precisely this feeling that we also find in his heart. Aqua Allegoria Bergamot Calabria evolves towards a more spicy and aniseed scent but just as fresh of cardamom. The latter is spiced up with ginger as if to make the whole more addicting. Finally, the airy freshness of white musks prevails as if to close this fragrance gently.
It was in 2017 that Guerlain chose to expand its “Aqua Allegoria” collection, a true ode to nature, with “Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria”. To create this collection, the entire Guerlain team, mainly Thierry Wasser, the appointed perfumer, traveled the planet to find the most beautiful scents in order to enhance them. Each Aqua Allegoria transports us to a particular corner of the world, a country or a region. With “Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria”, the Guerlain house takes us to Italy, more exactly to the region of Reggio. < / p>
The Aqua Allegoria collection
Each essence in the Aqua Allegoria collection pays homage to nature and the most beautiful raw materials they offer us. Each perfume is an olfactory journey and tells the story of a country, India, Italy, China, the United States, Vénezvuela, or even France. In a spirit of eternally renewing itself, Guerlain has chosen to highlight raw materials in each of its essences. The Aqua Allegoria collection began in 1999, but Guerlain did not want it to be a line of colognes. In a contemporary spirit, the Aqua Allegoria collection unveils a new conception of freshness. Between allegory and joy, the Guerlain collection really goes off the beaten track, and offers original essences between cologne and perfume. It is of course, Thierry Wasseur who created all the fragrances of this unique collection.
Bergamot from Calabria
With “Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria”, Guerlain takes us to Italy . Bergamot comes from the bergamot tree, cultivated mainly in Calabria. Citrus fruit similar to lemon, bergamot nevertheless has a more powerful, more penetrating aroma. It is a citrus fruit that also exudes an incredible freshness. Bergamot is found mainly in the south of Calabria, in the region of Reggio which provides 90% of world production. Calabrian bergamot is the red thread of the whole composition. At the top, petitgrain joins forces with bergamot, bringing its sparkling and citrusy tone. The more powerful heart combines cardamom with ginger. The base is both tender and sensual, because we find white musks there. Finally, the bottle is similar to all those in the Aqua Allegoria collection, echoing the brand’s iconic “white bees” bottle.
A lively and sun-kissed essence… “Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria” takes us directly to Italy, to the region of Reggio. Luminous and radiant, the niche fragrance in the “Aqua Allegoria” collection once again pays homage to nature.
