A perfume essence for the Classique de Gaultier perfume
In this year 2016, Jean-Paul Gaultier has decided to give us a new olfactory experience stemming from this scent legend. Jean-Paul Gaultier’s new wife is revealed in the new Classique Essence de Parfum, a juice with jasmine and vaporous richness for an even more explosive result than in the past.

If the Classique perfume quickly classified itself as being a symbol of all Jean-Paul Gaultier perfumery, it is also because of what it is about its first perfume. It was created in 1993 and since that date dresses the body of women with a floral and powdery flavor. Nevertheless, many other fragrances have emerged within the brand since this first creation. However, since January 2016, Jean-Paul Gaultier perfumes have been bought by Puig. This international group, a true luxury giant, has thus decided to refocus on the fundamentals of the brand. This is why Classique Essence de Parfum appears to be a new vision for one of them. The Jean-Paul Gaultier range has decided to hand over to the honor its fetish couple composed of Classic for women and Male for men. These are reinterpreted here with more modernity, offering a unique visual and olfactory experience.
The new floral explosion of Classique Essence de Parfum
If the first version of the Classique perfume had been developed by perfumer Jacques Cavallier, this time it was Daphné Bugey that the house Jean-Paul Gaultier called on to create Classique Essence de Parfum. This fairly discreet Grenoble-native then imagined a real digest of femininity. The new vision of the Jean-Paul Gaultier woman seems to be even more charismatic than before. Thus, its flavor begins with a fresh and sassy blend of tangerine, aldehyde and ginger. In this way, the Classique Essence de Parfum woman does not shy away from its seductive and aphrodisiac side! Then, the flavor of this fragrance continues via a heart similar to a huge bouquet of white flowers. This one is full of sambac jasmine and orange blossom for a particularly sunny result. Finally, its background becomes darker. The latter is full of woody notes, cashmere and benzoin. For more lightness and gluttony, a whipped cream accord has also been added to this composition as well as a sweet vanilla. Likewise, the Classic Essence de Parfum bottle has also been reinterpreted. The latter has retained the form of the bust of the Classic woman of yesteryear. This one simply has sharper edges, as well as a less generous chest but more hips. What’s more, its juice turns out to be hotter than before, echoing its new copper-colored vaporizer. On the other hand, the famous can of Jean-Paul Gaultier serving as packaging has not disappeared. Released in 2016, “ Classique Essence de Parfum ”is a variation of Jean-Paul Gaultier’s famous feminine perfume,“ Classique ”. As elegant and feminine as its predecessor, the “Classique Essence de Parfum” essence is more intense. It is a powerful juice rich in jasmine sensations. In 1993, “Classique” had been like a small revolution in the world of perfumery with its subtle and powdery floral scent. The famous bust-shaped bottle has been revisited for the occasion… More sizes and fewer breasts for a transparency that lets the beauty of the new amber nectar shine forth.
Classic Essence de Parfum, a femininity by Daphné Bugey
It is to perfumer Daphné Bugey that Jean-Paul Gaultier entrusted the realization of this little masterpiece. Daphné Bugey is one of the few perfumers not to be in Grasse. Originally from Grenoble, she fell in love with the profession of perfumer at 12 years old. A graduate of ISIPCA, Daphné Bugey was hired in 1997 by the company Firmenich. When asked what is her first olfactory memory, she says “I remember the scent of orange blossoms that floated in the air or that we found in the pastries in Algiers where I spent my early childhood. “. Daphné Bugey has collaborated with many haute couture houses and we owe her great successes such as “Jeu d’Amour” by Kenzo, “Valentina Pink” by Valentino or more recently “Aura” by Thierry Mugler.
Classic Essence de Parfum, desirable notes
Daphné Bugey wanted to start its composition with ginger, associated with aldehydes, for a more airy side.
The first traces of ginger are found in India, around 3000 years ago. Ginger is one of the first spices to be imported to the Mediterranean basin. In ancient Egypt, ginger was used in the process of mummification. In the Middle Ages, ginger, which was then very expensive, was exploited as a bargaining chip. Ginger was then used for its many medicinal properties. In perfumery, ginger is steam distilled from the cleaned and dried rhizomes. It gives off spicy, soapy and zesty tones.
The heart of “Classique Essence de Parfum »Is ultra bright and radiant, because it combines orange blossom and jasmine. The name “jasmine” comes from the Persian “yasmin” and means “Gift of God”. Native to the Himalayas, jasmine comes in over 200 varieties. Its white flowers are flamboyant and its smell is heady. Mainly cultivated in Grasse, jasmine is one of the most widely used flowers in perfumery, along with the rose. In perfumery, jasmine gives off very floral, fruity, delicate and powdery tones.
Finally, the base of “Classique Essence de Parfum” is powerful and original since it combines whipped cream with vanilla and amber woods for a most sensual result. The famous female bust bottle here offers a radiant amber color.
