L’Homme Libre, the fragrance of today’s man
From his beginnings, the young designer, shy, with big glasses, astonishes, jostles, and shocks the bourgeoisie. He transforms women’s clothing fashion by reinventing her wardrobe, but above all by making it sexier and more masculine. Her first perfume “Rive Gauche”, released in 1971, is an incentive to liberate female mores. In 2006, YSL imagined “L’Homme” , a fragrance entirely intended for today’s man. In 2011, the brand offered a variation with “L’Homme Libre”.
The man in the spotlight
After having devoted itself enormously to sublimating the beauty of women, their strengths and their personality, YSL decided to create a fragrance that enhances the man of today. The name of the perfume really comes from a phrase from Yves Saint Laurent, “I address myself to free men”. Freedom is a theme dear to the heart of the Parisian designer, and he has defended it throughout his career … “The Free Man” falls between modernity and freshness. It follows “L’Homme”, released in 2006 and “La Nuit de l’Homme” released in 2009. The fragrance of “L’Homme Libre” symbolizes the strength, sensuality and charisma of man. Between creativity and authenticity, “L’Homme” is the perfect olfactory incarnation of the man of the 2010s. Faced with this success, the brand decides to offer variations. “L’Homme Libre” is the third opus in this charismatic collection. “The Free Man” is intended for an ultra dynamic man, who is overflowing with energy. He always expresses himself with ardor. “The Free Man” is a contemporary man, who lives with his time and who wants to be free of his choices.
The freshness of the Free Man
“L’Homme Libre “is considered an aromatic-fern. It is two talented perfumers, Olivier Polge and Carlos Benaïm, who produced “L’Homme Libre”. The fragrance begins with a fresh and citrus intensity thanks to the presence of Calabrian bergamot. The latter is overtaken by the spicy notes of nutmeg and rose berry. Then, the heart of “L’Homme Libre” oscillates between aromatic and floral notes, those of basil, star anise, star anise and violet flower, and thus gives the whole a good dose of ‘impertinence. The base trail is an association between vetiver, patchouli and leathery notes. As for the bottle, it uses the codes of its elder. The shape is graphic, cylindrical at its base, and octagonal at the level of the cabochon. Its transparency at the top of the bottle gradually evolves towards an increasingly dark blue. The set is electric!
Third version of “L’Homme”, “L’Homme Libre” highlights the freedom of today’s men, but also their strength and sensuality. The fragrance, both fresh and spicy, is a concentrate of virility.
The new variation of a myth signed Yves Saint-Laurent
In 2006, Yves Saint-Laurent had the good idea to create a perfume dedicated to contemporary and daring masculinity. This juice, named The Man, quickly ranked at the top of sales. Also, in 2011, Yves Saint-Laurent released the third opus of his legendary perfume, L’Homme Libre. This juice reveals boundless energy and seems intended for a man who does not hesitate to express himself with ardor and passion. p>
The extraordinary energy of L’Homme Libre by Yves Saint-Laurent
L’Homme Libre is a fragrance that can be worn daily to sublimate a life in perpetual change. The new man Yves Saint-Laurent appears free of all his choices. He now assumes each of his decisions, becoming more serene but also more astonishing and unpredictable. This then only reinforces its glowing charm. The Yves Saint-Laurent man is now free to choose, act, create or seduce as he sees fit. The Free Man thus fits wonderfully into our urban and cosmopolitan era. Its frivolous lightness is absolutely contagious. The Free Man is much more than a fragrance. He is the embodiment of a state of mind.
The freshness of The Free Man
In order to develop L’Homme Libre, Yves Saint-Laurent once again called on Olivier Polge, a perfumer already in charge of developing the first part of this collection. Nevertheless, for the occasion, he combined his knowledge with the overflowing creativity of Carlos Benaïm. Both gave birth to a woody and aromatic juice. The Free Man begins with an intense, citrusy freshness emanating from Calabrian bergamot. This citrus fruit is here associated with the vegetal and powdery side of violet leaves. The basil and star anise, meanwhile, do not fail to reinforce the pep of the whole. Then, other spices come to reinforce the impertinence of this composition. The Free Man releases a daring breath of nutmeg and pink pepper. Its more woody background then appears little by little. The trail of L’Homme Libre also contains patchouli and vetiver. These resins are also matched with leather, which only accentuates the sensuality of this extraordinary juice. Of course, L’Homme Libre is also re-appropriating the shape of its predecessor’s bottle. We find its graphic shape there, cylindrical at its base and octagonal at the level of its cabochon. Its transparency evolves towards a darker blue. The whole is absolutely electrifying, like its dip tube passing through its bottle and similar to a large exclamation point!
