The perfume L’Homme by Yves Saint Laurent
L’Homme is a perfume stitched together by multiple personalities and thus capable of seducing a particularly large panel of women. Focus on this juice which has become a staple in men’s perfumery.
Yves Saint-Laurent’s assertive masculinity
If Yves Saint-Laurent had accustomed us to more restrained perfumes for men, L ‘ Homme, on the other hand, embodies extraordinary strength and virility. This juice is made of charisma, daring and sensuality. He portrays us the image of a very assertive but no less complex personality. In addition, its ultra masculinity is associated with unparalleled refinement. In this sense, L’Homme by Yves Saint-Laurent fits perfectly with the image we have of the brand cloakroom. It symbolizes the unique expression of contemporary masculinity and plunges us into a universe halfway between authentic luxury and more industrial modernity. His charisma then seems completely natural and the new man Yves Saint-Laurent seems to have many assets to seduce women. He is both very sure of himself, while displaying pure sensibility. In other words, he is a kind of adventurer with a tender heart, the ultimate recipe to capsize the fairer sex! Yves Saint-Laurent’s masculinity is thanks to him totally uninhibited and contemporary, both sensual and particularly magnetic.
The aromatic and woody scent of L’Homme
Four perfumers have collaborated to create the L’Homme fragrance by Yves Saint-Laurent. This is the work of Anne Flipo, Béatrice Piquet, Dominique Ropion and Pierre Wargnye. Together, they reclaimed the iconic scent of masculine fern and added a woody tone to it. Thus, L’Homme opens with the dazzling freshness of citron and bergamot. This explosive duo brings unparalleled dynamism to the wearer. What’s more, the whole thing is further reinforced by the slightly spicy presence of ginger, an ingredient also known for its aphrodisiac side. The violet leaves, for their part, bring a more vegetal and powdery side while the basil flower reinforces its aromatic aspect. The white pepper again helps to spice it up. Finally, The Man finishes with a very woody blend of sandalwood, Virginia cedar and Haitian vetiver. Overall, this is a very warm and highly addicting scent. This is contained in a very clean glass bottle. The sobriety of this one is nevertheless enhanced by a large metal cap of octagonal shape. This has an appearance similar to that of a bolt and overcomes a completely transparent base and crossed by an opaque black rod. All of this perfectly symbolizes the luxury and daring characteristic of the Yves Saint-Laurent house. The sobriety of this one is nevertheless enhanced by a large metal cap of octagonal shape. Released in 2006 “L ‘Homme “is one of the great successes of the Yves Saint Laurent house. At the same time charismatic, elegant and daring, “L’Homme” is the scent of resolutely modern men, the men of the 21st century. Both raw and precious, the “L’Homme” fragrance exudes ultra masculine notes. The man of the 21st century displays a beautiful virility, a natural charm that attracts women, without him even realizing it! “L’Homme” is an elaborate fragrance with many facets and playing with different contrasts… An essence that truly pays homage to modern men.
L’Homme, the masterpiece of 4 ultra talented perfumers
In order to create such a sophisticated composition, Yves Saint Laurent called on 4 renowned perfumers, namely Anne Flipo, Béatrice Piquet, Dominique Ropion, Pierre Wargnye. Anne Flipo is an unusual and very imaginative perfumer. Yet she grew up far from Grasse. She began her career at Créations Aromatique (now known as “Symrise”), in parallel with her studies at Charabot. It will then integrate the famous IFF (International Flavors and Fragrances). We owe to Anne Flipo particularly exceptional essences such as “Lady Million” by Paco Rabanne or “La vie est Belle” by Lancôme. Béatrice Piquet succeeded in integrating the Versailles school of perfumery, ISIPCA. Sadly, Béatrice Piquet died in 2010 at the age of 46, leaving behind great perfumes such as “L’Homme de Guerlain” by Guerlain or “Lady Million” by Paco Rabanne (in collaboration with Anne Flipo). Dominique Ropion has inherited smells since his mother and grandfather worked at Roure. Dominique Ropion possesses unusual techniques and is considered one of the greatest perfumers of his generation. We owe him great perfumes such as “Very Irresistible” by Givenchy or “Pure Poison” by Dior. Finally, Pierre Wargnye has worked for more than 20 years at IFF, but he likes to work in the shadows. In perfumery, it is really a “safe bet”. He has already imagined many perfumes such as “Only The Brave” by Diesel or “Drakkar Noir” by Guy Laroche.
Contrasting notes and ultra modern tones
One thing is certain, it is that these 4 perfumers have created an ultra modern fragrance, which will be declined many times. Elegant and sensual, the fragrance begins with the very lively freshness of citron and bergamot. Freshness immediately contrasted by ginger and basil, ingredients that bring character from the start. The heart is ultra floral with the violet flower, a particularly rare and expensive flower, which is used mainly in feminine perfumery. Once again, Yves Saint Laurent plays on contrasts mixing violet with white pepper. The composition then oscillates between strength and softness. The base of “L’Homme” is at once woody, amber, warm and sensual thanks to the presence of sandalwood, vetiver, Virginia cedar and amber. The ultra-contemporary bottle, also with its octagonal cap, recalls all the wonderful facets of modern man.
