The history and philosophy of Diptyque
This is how the Eau des Sens fragrance was conceived. The latter is described as “music that breathes on the skin”. Like many Diptyque perfumes, Eau des Sens is unlike any other juice on the market. It is a unisex essence emanating from a real creative process.
The history and philosophy of Diptyque
Diptyque was born from the association of three friends driven by a common creative passion. Christiane Gautrot was an interior designer. Desmond Knox Leet was a painter. Yves Coueslant was a theater administrator and decorator. Together they decided to open a shop which at first looked like a sort of grand chic bazaar in which were found all kinds of unexpected objects found by the trio during their travels. Then, it was in 1968 that Diptyque launched into the creation of perfumes, retaining their creative originality and transposing it in the form of refined smells. Today, Diptyque is a brand recognized for its rich heritage and its very unique scented writing. There is no equivalent in the repertoire of classic perfumery to this brand. All of their designs are androgynous and suitable for both male and female. This is also the case for Eau des Sens, a juice that fits in perfectly with the rest of the Diptyque range.
The originality of Eau des Sens
Eau des Sens is a fragrance that immediately sows confusion. Indeed, it is both very fresh while remaining particularly vibrant. The whole is dominated by bitter orange. Nevertheless, it is explored in all its diversity and is associated with woods as well as spices. The initial dynamism is created by a clever blend of bergamot, orange, petitgrain and lemon. Then, the orange blossom is honored in its heart via the addition of neroli. This one reveals here its citrus facet, zesty, soft and suave at the same time. What’s more, for a more vegetal look, it is embellished with a hint of tea. Finally, Eau des Sens becomes deeper thanks to patchouli. This is nevertheless counterbalanced by the warm and exotic aspect of vanilla and Eau des Sens s’ vanished into a fresh breath emanating from white musks. The set is contained in a bottle similar to all those in the Diptyque collection. Oval in shape, it is designed in solid glass and firmly anchored in the ground. Completely transparent, it reveals a very clear juice. Only its black, opaque and shiny stopper contrasts with its glass base. The set is both classic and daring, a touch of vintage while remaining contemporary, simply timeless. opaque and shiny contrasts with its glass base.
