Him, a sensually captivating fragrance

After studying design and sewing, Hanae Mori opened her first boutique in downtown Tokyo. In 1954, she was considered one of the best stylists in Japanese cinema, with over 700 designs to her credit. Hanae Mori embarked on perfumery in 1995 with “Butterfly”, an ultra poetic and bucolic fragrance. In 2012, she presented “Him”, a spicy woody essence for confident men.

Male power according to Hanae Mori

“Him” is the brand second men’s fragrance, after “HM ”. With “Him”, Hanae Mori wanted a perfect harmony between elegance and intensity. This resulted in a juice that was both sweet and woody. The brand also wanted us to “immerse ourselves” in this sensual and intoxicating olfactory universe. “Him” represents nobility, elegance and power. It is therefore a fragrance of high masculine intensity, mysterious, of which he (him) alone holds the secret. The “Him” man likes to seduce, but naturally, in his image. He stands out for his natural elegance and chic, which gives him an undisguised charisma. Hanae Mori wanted to portray the strength of a man, the one he can with nature, in the middle of the forest.

The contrasting notes of Him by Hanae Mori

“Him” is defined as a woody and spicy fragrance, which changes the register for Hanae Mori who was more used to a more “fragile” fragrance. The freshness of flowers and citrus in the top notes mingles with a warm and sensual heart. “Him” opens with the fresh notes of mandarin. These are overtaken by the violet flower and the gray pepper which contrast with the sweetness of the tangerine. The heart is more intense and combines fig wood with a duo of cinnamon and tonka bean. The power of man is here revealed by his gentleness. The base is woody and amber. The bottle kept the shape of “HM”. We find the original bottle tinged with brown echoing the woody side of the fragrance. The brown case recalls the texture of wood.

The second male fragrance, “Him” is a fragrance made up of contrasts between freshness, intensity and softness. The notes are both warm and fresh and offer a particularly rare composition. Hanae Mori trains us and advises us to “HIMmerge” in her olfactory universe. Bold, masculine and refined, “Him” reveals unknown lands.

Released in 2012, “ Him ”is the brand second men’s fragrance. Elegant and intense, “Him” is a noble and mysterious fragrance. With “Him”, we dive into a world of powerful and dazzling sensations. The Hanae Mori brand invites you here to “HiM-ergez” in this universe of scented contrasts where the freshness of citrus fruits, those of flowers in the top note mingle with a warm and sensual heart of which only the bark of cinnamon and the bean. of tonka can delicately reveal its power.

Him Hanae Mori, woody and spicy olfactory notes

The Hanae Mori house has carefully chosen the ingredients for the composition of “Him”. The woody notes are represented here by white cedar, teak wood, tonka bean. The spicy notes are represented by cinnamon and pepper notes. Citrus and sweet tones such as fig tree blend harmoniously with this. The spicy notes deliver intense and subtle aromas and are very popular in perfumery. There are two kinds of spices, hot (cinnamon, nutmeg, chili) and cold (cilantro, ginger). We find the spicy notes in many feminine and masculine olfactory compositions.

Him Hanae Mori, notes between power and elegance

“Him” soars on the freshness of tangerine , associated with the flower of violet then enhanced by gray pepper. Originally from India and China, gray pepper has been used since the dawn of time. The Romans used to mix gray pepper and juniper in order to give power to dishes. In the 18th century, Pierre Poivre, whose name is only a coincidence, then governor of Fort-de-France, decided to plant pepper plants on Reunion Island. Today, pepper is cultivated in Madagascar, Brazil, and also in Asia. In perfumery, the essence of pepper is obtained by steam distilling ripe fruits. The pepper gives off spicy, dry and woody tones.

Then, the heart of “Him” evolves towards a warm and sweet mixture, because it combines tonka bean, cinnamon and fig tree wood. The tonka bean has an almond shape. It is the fruit of Brazilian teak also called “Dipteryx odorata”. After being harvested, the bean is dried, then soaked in alcohol for 24 hours, and then dried again. Reduced to powder, the beans are extracted using solvents to obtain absolute oil. In perfumery, the tonka bean is very popular with the nose. It gives off woody, sensual, warm, smoky and balsamic scents.

Finally, the base of “Him” is resolutely sensual thanks to the presence of amber woods, white cedar and amber. Sober and slender, the bottle brings out the amber color of the composition.
