First of all, do you know where the name of this new perfume comes from? It all began in 1957, when Hubert de Givenchy decided to create a perfume for his lifelong muse: British actress Audrey Hepburn. The forbidden then did not bear its final name and was absolutely not intended to be marketed to the general public. It was only a few years later that the couturier decided to share his work with all women. If the interdict is today known throughout the world, at the time, this idea hardly pleased the actress Audrey Hepburn who declared to the creator: “I forbid you! “. This is how the name of this fragrance was found… to become one of the most refined and romantic fragrances in the history of women’s perfumery. Today, the interdict is therefore available in several editions, notably in the form of an Eau de Parfum and now an Eau de Toilette.

The interdict Eau de Toilette is presented in the iconic Givenchy bottle, famous for its cylindrical and timeless shape. The heavy weight of its glass is here the guarantee of all the refinement of the brand. For this new Eau de Toilette edition, Givenchy has chosen to preserve its former silhouette. Its transparent base lets us glimpse a pink and feminine juice. Her little ribbon, on the other hand, swapped her original black color for a pearl gray for her Eau de Toilette. A small pendant bearing the Givenchy logo in relief is attached to its collar. Finally, the name of the perfume is now written in orange writing .
On the scent side, Givenchy’s L’Interdit Eau de Toilette uses the main ingredients of its predecessor L’Interdit Givenchy Eau de Parfum , namely tuberose and orange blossom. Thus, these raw materials give it a luminous, Mediterranean and floral breath. The poppy, on the other hand, is unique. It makes its appearance in the heart of this fragrance, making it drier and earthier. For more animality, L’Indit Eau de Toilette contains a sensual facet of musk. Its airy and luminous initial freshness gradually gives way to a more woody base. The interdict Eau de Toilette ends with a combination of patchouli and vetiver. This very nuanced and harmonious fragrance owes its existence to three talented perfumers, namely Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal.
L’Interdit by Givenchy in its Eau de toilette version
With the Forbidden , the house created by Hubert de Givenchy entered the world of perfumery in 1957 by offering this very first fragrance inspired by the great Audrey Hepburn, a close friend of the stylist and couturier. In 2018, the Givenchy house will revive the myth by offering a brand new creation of this Forbidden which fascinates with its sometimes luminous and sometimes sensual flowers. So what can we expect in 2019 from the new concentration, L’Interdit Eau de toilette?

We are in the middle of the 1950s. Whereas Hubert de Givenchy had already embarked on haute couture for some time, he also wanted to create perfume, because he is so passionate about feminine fragrances. To do this, he drew on the extraordinary personality of his muse Audrey Hepburn and in 1957 he offered The Forbidden. This so sensual and so feminine perfume will mark the world and even today no one has forgotten these singular scents between flowers, masculine-feminine style notes and so beautiful sensuality.
In 2018, the perfumers Dominique Ropion, Fanny Bal and Anne Flipo have chosen to put their talents at the service of Givenchy in order to revive this mythical perfume by offering it the same contrasts between light and femininity, masculine notes of vetiver and the ultra sensuality of vanilla animal notes .
In order to compose a lighter version of the Interdit, this same trio of perfumers will compose for the Interdit Eau de Toilette a fragrance that is as captivating as ever but this time more powdery thanks to the poppy flower, between delicacy and an intense narcotic effect…
When the poppy plays the star guests of L’Interdit Eau de Toilette
For L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Fanny Bal, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo had worked their scent composition in order to off laughing a feminine portrait in contrast, like the woman of 2018, moreover, the perfumers explained at the time to Femme d’Aujourd’hui & nbsp;: “The creation of L ‘Interdit was a real exploration of our vision of the Givenchy woman. A creative discussion during which we were all able to explore different avenues before achieving the perfect balance between strength and grace, modernity and timelessness. ”
For this new, lighter opus, L’Interdit Eau de Toilette, the talented trio separated from the animal notes of ambroxan like pear notes at the top in order to replace them with a rather original opening of poppy. In essence, both the poppy and the poppy are silent flowers, however they can be reproduced by powdery accords with a mysterious effect and smoked as is the case in the Interdit Eau de Toilette. At the heart, the sunny and very feminine splendor of orange blossom and tuberose remains in this Interdit Eau de Toilette, but the musk punctuates these flowers with its warmth. Of course, the Interdit Eau de Toilette retains its unique signature of vetiver which, combined with patchouli, offers intense sensuality.
